The Shea tree is a wild tree that grows only in the northern savannah belt of West and East Africa. Due to the presence of more desirable qualities, the West African Shea tree/fruit is highly sought after as raw materials for the production of Shea butter for the confectionery market, because it has relatively higher Stearin content and is hence of more economic value than the East African fruits. Shea butter has become by volume, the single biggest base raw material for the global cosmetic industry, especially the skin care category which accounts for 20% of the over $382 billion cosmetic industry which continues to grow at the rate of 3% per annum.Shea Butter is a seed Fat that comes from the she tree .The tree is found in the east and west tropical Africa.
The she butter comes from two oily kernels, is removed from the seed it is grounded into powder and then boiled in water and becomes solid.
She butter is mostly used on the skin for acne, burns, dry skin ,eczema, Shea butter is also applied on the hair too for treatment of dandruff, and many other conditions, But there is no good scientific evidence to support these use.
